After the Thunder
”This is thunder!” “This is storm!” 「
The other day, while we were having dinner, there was a sudden flash—then rumble, rumble, rumble. Thunder.
For my two-year-old daughter, it seemed to be her very first encounter with the idea of thunder and storms.
The next day, she said she wanted to draw, so I handed her a brush—
“This is thunder!” “This is storm!”
she kept telling me, trying her best to explain.
As I watched, I could see how deeply she had been inspired by the mystery and power of nature.
The result was a surprisingly accomplished abstract painting.
In the end, nature—and children—are impossible to beat.
